What Was Sputnik?

The Sputnik Program, more commonly known as “companion”, is a group of numerous robotic spacecraft operations launched by the Soviet Union.  Sputnik 1, the first of these, is the first known human made object to enter the space.

When Was Sputnik Launched?

Sputnik 1 was launched into the space on October 4, 1957.  The launch laid bare the expediency of the usage of artificial sites for the exploration of upper atmosphere.

The word “sputnik” is said to have Russian origin with the literal meaning “co-traveler”, “satellite”, or “travelling companion”. Sputnik 1, when launched, featured a diameter measuring 58cm (23″) and a weight of 83.6 kg (183 lb.).  It took about 96 minutes to complete each of the 1440 elliptical orbits.  The launch of Sputnik 1 had surprised the US as this launch was coupled with the magnificent failure of the USA”s first two attempts for the launch of Project Vanguard.

The launch of Sputnik 1 had had a very positive impact in the space research world.  Firstly, it led to the up come of Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA, and NASA.  Besides, it had also inspired various youngsters to form a generation of engineers and scientists.  Moreover, the launch of Sputnik 1 also inspired Herb Caen, a U.S. writer to lay claim to the term “beatnik” in the San Francisco Chronicle about the Beat Generation.  To conclude with, it would not be wrong to say that Sputnik 1 has proved to be not only a landmark in human space flight but has also been the inaugurating achievement in the “Space Race”.  Besides, it has also given birth to a cohort of scientists and engineers, the type of minds that compliment artists like Andy Warhol, Poe, and Picasso.

Sputnik initiated a movement that ultimately led to many amazing discoveries and expeditions.  Without Sputnik the world may have never seen things like mining asteroids, Elon Musk and SpaceX, and space elevators.  Furthermore, this type of innovation and risk taking ultimately drives new things such as delivery robots and self driving electric trucks, services like Uber, all of which build on the past platforms such as Sputnik and the Tesla coil.

The real steps leading to the launch of Sputnik can be traced back almost as far as you need to look, however it’s simple to see the reason why many men and women give a lot of the credit to the few people above. Through the process of elimination, and the fact that it is taking place from Cape Canaveral, it is unlikely to be carrying an imaging satellite. None of the last launches came close.

The first was to demonstrate our capacity to receive safely into orbit. You may opt-out at any moment. A number of them achieved relatively higher levels within its ranks. The notion of artificial satellites had been around for some time. It was to launch Object D in 1957 at the beginning of the International Geophysical Year. Before its launch, the thought of sending humans into space was the field of fantasy. The master plan usually means that no 1 nation will have the ability to conduct a space program in isolation or in secret not even the USA unless there’s a dramatic increase in space funding.

Rockets aren’t a new invention. Sounding rockets continue to be used today. The full rocket weighed just 64,000 pounds. It was launched by rocket. This rocket, called the R-7, was originally meant to be a ballistic missile.

Despite appearances, satellites don’t actually defy gravity. It wasn’t a scientific satellite. It was the very first solar-powered satellite. First satellites from every country are included.

Russia Sputnik

The earth is enveloped by many gases. This area is called atmosphere. Beyond this area comes the area of space or atmosphere wherein there are no gases. In general there are 3 means of exploring the space. The first means is with the aid of balloons. However it can’t go very high. Rockets are one of the two modern ways of exploring the space. There are various phases or sections in each rocket in order that each can be dropped off after its fuel has been spent and therefore reducing the total weight of the ascending rocket. The 3rd modern method of exploring the space is thru satellite.

These are metal spheres which contain various instruments. They’re thrown into the space with the aid of rockets. These rockets put them in the desired orbit. There are satellite start to travel round the earth as artificial planets. At the race to explore space, both Russia and America are competing partners. Russia was the first nation to get a guy made satellite called Sputnik 1 into orbit around the earth on October 4, 1957, a date which can be said to mark the beginning of space exploration. Russia launched on 3rd Nov, 1957, its second satellite in the space known as Sputnik 11 which carried a dog named Laika.

It went to the height of 930 miles and its speed was 18, 000 mph. The dog returned to the earth alive. In January 1958, the U.S.A. Put in orbit its first satellite called Explore 1. It had been lighter, but its speed was greater than that of the Russia one. It traveled round the earth at the height of 1, 000 miles with a speed of 19, 000 mph. This was followed by the launching of a series of satellites by both the Russians was the Americans. A Russian astronaut, Yuri Gagarin, was the first man to get into space in Apr, 1961, and he came back to the earth safe and secure.

The story of success began with the landing of Apollo 11 in space. It had been on the twentieth of July 1969, Neil Armstrong, a citizen of the U.S.A., set foot upon the moon. He planted a flag of his country with these words that it was the initial step of U.S.A., and a big leap of mankind. This heralded the victory of man with time and space and ushered a brand new era in the apace explorations. Since that time several attempts have been made to orbit round other stars by the two powers. Space travel is among the great wonders of science. Man’s highest aspiration of life seems to have been crowned with success.

An interesting event to have taken place over in Russia is the flight of Yuri Gagarin. A man of famous note and the first man to ever go into space, Yuri Gagarin would go on to become the first man to visit the Moon and achieve first contact with the other alien world. Gagarin is also the first man to travel in space on a foreign vehicle and stayed in space in a capsule for seventeen days and did not return to earth until six months after his first day. During that time in space, Gagarin claimed that he saw little to no human beings on the planet that he had been orbiting.

There have been many games played to honor Yuri Gagarin and also to show gratitude to the Russian Space Program for the many breakthroughs that this nation has created through this great work. One of the games played to honor the accomplishment of Yuri Gagarin is the Russian Astronaut Game (RAST). The RAST allows the player to purchase tokens that are used for counting down from the one hundred thousand mark and using these tokens can play the game by reading from a script.

There are many other great games that can be played as part of the Russia Space Program. There is of course the game of the lost segment. This game has Yuri Gagarin and Sergei Korolev in the game as well as several other space pioneers. The other games include the Trans-Siberian games. There is of course a NASA game for the same, the old space age version that the controllers used to play before the year 2020.
