California Gold Rush

The Gold Rush is an interesting aspect of the history of the Golden State.  Soon after gold was found the very first gold coins were minted. During the 1850s the quantity of available gold started to decline. It put a new negative incentive into all of this. Naturally there were other techniques to locate gold than digging for it.

Our internet page on Native Americans features a concise history, photos and a few resources. Now that you’ve thought about the important info to include in the exhibit, it is the right time to produce your exhibit. Much of the info about the gold rush is anecdotal.

A rush typically starts with the discovery of placer gold created by someone. In just 3 decades, the Gold Rush produced an important population expansion composed of over twenty unique nationalities and accelerating California into statehood at the cost of the Native American cultures. He attracted immigrants from around the world. It helped complete the first transcontinental railway in the middle of the century to get people to the west coast as fast as possible.

Not every one of the prospectors were American. Miners also brought European diseases like smallpox. A number of the miners did not make massive profits since they were late to the show and a great deal of the gold was already gone. A miner had to discover an ounce of gold per day merely to break even.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is an impressive structure in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a masterpiece of engineering that many people are fascinated with. The amazing nature of the structure and its ability to support such a great weight of water make it an interesting subject for the art collector.

The Bridge has been designed to last so long. There is an immense amount of planning, preparation, and effort put into the construction of the bridge. Many factors were taken into consideration that needed to be carried out correctly. In other words, the Golden Gate Bridge cannot be brought down by a massive earthquake.

The history of the building of the Golden Gate Bridge goes back to 1869. The first bridge was built using timber and steel. The bridge is built of bridges that are called superstructure and then it is bolted together to make the actual structure. This is the same process that is used on the Hoover Dam.

When was the construction project originally begun? Many people want to know when was the bridge built so they can pay tribute to the famous landmark. The earliest part of the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge was actually during the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.

The bridge was constructed in stages and many people visit the bridge each day for a view of the surrounding area. These different sections of the bridge are not usually completed at one time but are just being built on the surface. Some of these sections include the south tower, the north tower, the cable and the main span.

The original design of the Golden Gate Bridge was to create a continuous span over the bay. Although the current bridge is about sixty-four feet shorter than the original design, the span of the span is actually twenty-one feet longer. The original bridge design hada beautiful curve that brought the Bay Bridge closer to the Golden Gate Bridge.

When was the completion of the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge? The bridge was originally supposed to be completed in 1869 but delays were encountered. Eventually, workers finished the main span of the bridge and began the major structural work of the structure. Construction on the bridge was completed in time for the bridge to be open for the opening of the Panama Canal.

When was the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge completed? The very first thing you will notice when you go across the bridge is the beautiful natural backdrop. The next thing you will notice is the huge structure itself that spans the bay and holds the Golden Gate Bridge in place.
