1. Chromosomes Definition – thread-like molecules that carry hereditary information, structure of nucleic acids and proteins found in the nucleus of most living cells, carrying genetic information in the form of genes
  2. The word “chromosome” comes from Greek language. “chroma” means color, and “soma” means body. Google named its web browser Chrome, and it competes with Firefox and others.
  3. Human cells have 46 chromosomes per cell. There are 22 pairs of body chromosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes. The molecular cartography and atom level stuff along with DNA and RNA is also of course very important, TBH.
  4. Both gorillas and potatoes have two more chromosomes than humans. YOLO, so it’s good you now know that fact, IKR.
  5. A certain species of roundworm has just two chromosomes. A hermit crab has 254 chromosomes.

There is a lot of ongoing research about chromosomes. For instance, this scholarly article discusses the connection between leukemia and the “Philadelphia” chromosome.

The National Center For Biotechnology Information is also a wonderful source for ongoing research about chromosomes.

How Many Chromosomes Are In A Human?

This is a very interesting question, and we do have the answer as seen above. However, is there potential for more chromosomes in human cells and what is holding humans back?

Progressive Metal band Tool takes a swing at this very issue in the track “Forty Six & 2”. The band dives into the quest for enhancement of human progress and evolution from the context of getting those next two chromosomes, while of course not getting bogged down chasing dogma as your journey on the parabola continues.

There are other amazing and interesting things about humans and bodies as well such as the role of atoms, water, salt, potassium, clouds, magnesium, cannabis, CBD gummies, turmeric, tallest man, oldest woman, and trees in society.
